Abstract
Loading and unloading activities are activities to move goods from land transportation equipment, and to carry out cargo transfer activities, the availability of adequate facilities or equipment is required in a service method or procedure, and a loading and unloading company (PBM) is a legal entity that carries out activities loading and unloading of goods from or to the ship includes the activities of demolition of goods from the ship hatch onto the dock in the hull or vice versa (stevedoring), the activity of moving goods from the dock in the hull to warehouse / stacking field or vice versa (cargodoring) and taking goods from warehouse / field brought to the truck or vice versa (receiving / delivery). Not only that, PBM equipment must also have operational reliability for various types of general cargo, dry bulk, liquid bulk, and container cargo with loading and unloading speeds that are comparable to the performance of port operations standards per unit hour, per vessel and per dock. The damage caused by the loading and unloading process carried out is also relatively minimal and does not cause a dominant business loss, Gurning also asked PBM to pay attention to the loading and unloading operational capability around warehousing or stacking services because the component contributed to the high logistics costs in Indonesia.
