Abstract
Since the ratification of government regulations on the free trade zone area as a basis for implementing the free trade zone policy, there are still many and often smuggled goods entering the free trade zone and violating the regulations set by the government towards the free trade zone, Supervision and the enforcement has been implemented by the Tanjungpinang Customs Office on goods entering the free trade zone area by taking action and investigating with sealing and seizure of goods outside the free trade zone area, methods of data collection using observation, documentation, interviews. The research was in the Tanjungpinang City area of Bintan Island, Riau Islands. The results showed that the problems experienced by the Tanjungpinang Customs Office were the Free Trade Zone or the free trade zone which often occurred in the smuggling of goods and the Bintan Free Port of Tanjungpinang Region. which is included in the free trade zone area, it is not surprising if finally the free trade zone area policy is implemented by the government carried out by the Tanjungpinang Customs and Excise. Because the presence of this agency is a determinant of whether or not a policy is running well. Keywords : Customs, Free Trade Zone, Supervision, Enforcement
