Abstract
The main discussion in writing this paper is about the activities of Arrival and Departure of Coal-Loaded Barges by PT. Maritim Batubara Pertama in Special Terminal of Paiton Power Plant, Probolinggo. There are a number of background problems that arise and must be resolved in the discussion of this paper, namely what reports are issued in coal loading and unloading activities, services provided by the company to the barges that arrive untill they depart again, and factors that hinder loading and unloading activities. The company is engaged in coal loading and unloading services, which serve coal barges all activities, both in the activities of berthing, pilotage, stevedoring activities until the completion of activities and departing ships back. Based on data collection during Land Practice (PRADA) the authors used the method of observation, interviews, and documentation, and obtained results that: the arrival and departure of ships and loading and unloading activities will run smoothly and safely if there is good communication between shipping agents, captain the ship and the loading and unloading company. This aims to accelerate and simplify the loading and unloading activities and so that there is no overloading of barges that have arrived in the Paiton region.
