Abstract
How is the process of recruiting the crew on board. Recruitment is the process of finding, discovering and inviting a number of people from inside and outside as prospective workers with certain characteristics as determined in human resource planning especially for the crew of the ship. The aim of recruitment is to get as many ship crew candidates as possible so as to enable management crewing to select or select candidates according to the qualifications needed, the more candidates are successfully collected the better because the chances of getting a good candidate will be even greater. Based on data collection carried out during terrestrial practice, the authors used several methods, namely interviews, observation, document studies, focus group discussions and data sources and types of author data using qualitative data. The results obtained from the recruitment process were a number of prospective crew members who would enter the selection process, which is the process of determining which candidate is most appropriate to fill in certain positions available and needed to fill the vacancy on the ship, data collection is not guided by theory but is guided by facts found in the field research.
