Abstract
Container transportation time is a crucial factor in supporting the smooth operation of the export booking system in shipping companies. PT Kusuma Mitra Kargo, as an international freight forwarding company, is required to optimize various operational factors to accelerate container transportation time. Common problems faced by the company include mismatches between vessel capacity and cargo volume, inefficiencies in goods distribution at ports, and delays in export document completion. Therefore, proper vessel capacity management, improved distribution efficiency, and accelerated document accuracy are essential to ensure that export booking operations run smoothly and on time. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing container transportation time in the export booking system at PT Kusuma Mitra Kargo. The population of this study consisted of all customers who used export booking services at PT Kusuma Mitra Kargo, with a sample of 84 respondents. The sampling technique employed was non-probability sampling using a census/total sampling method. The analytical methods used were descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, with data analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis assisted by the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. The results of this study indicate that vessel capacity and distribution efficiency partially affect container transportation time, while document accuracy does not have a significant effect. The multiple linear regression analysis produced the equation Y = 0.835 + 0.292X1 + 0.498X2 + 0.105X3 + μ, in which vessel capacity and distribution efficiency show a positive and significant effect on container transportation time, whereas document accuracy shows a positive but insignificant effect. From the regression equation, it can also be identified that the most dominant variable influencing container transportation time is distribution efficiency, with a regression coefficient of 0.498. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) obtained was 0.568, meaning that 56.8% of the variation in container transportation time can be explained by the three independent variables, while the remaining 43.2% is influenced by other variables outside this study.
