Abstract
This research aims to examine the effect of parking space availability, road user awareness and compliance, as well as supervision and law enforcement on traffic congestion in the Old Market area (Pasar Lama) of Waikabubak City. The population in this study was vehicle users, while the sample was set at 100 respondents (this number was obtained from calculations using the Slovin formula, which resulted in 99.49 and was then rounded up). The analysis technique used was multiple linear regression with the assistance of the SPSS V.25 program. Based on the research results and multiple analysis, the resulting equation is Y = 1.522 + 0.289 X1 + 0.221 X2 + 0.353 X3 + µ. Based on empirical facts (questionnaire results) and the results of the multiple linear regression equation, it shows that the variable of parking space availability in the old market (X1) has a t-count (3.078) > t-table (1.66088), the variable of road user awareness and compliance in the old market (X2) has a t-count (2.363) > t-table (1.66088), and the variable of supervision and law enforcement in the old market (X3) has a t-count (3.151) > ttable (1.66088). Meanwhile, the Adjusted R2 value = 0.506. This means that 50.6% of the variation in the variable related to traffic congestion in the Waikabubak City sub-district (Y) can be explained or caused by the independent variables, namely parking space availability (X1), road user awareness and compliance (X2), and supervision and law enforcement (X3). The remaining 100% - 50.6% = 49.4% is explained by other variables outside the model that are not examined in this study. Thus, the research results show that parking space availability in the old market, road user awareness and compliance in the old market, as well as supervision and law enforcement in the old market have a positive and significant effect on traffic congestion in the Waikabubak City sub-district.
