Abstract
This study aims to analyze the efficiency of bulk vessel unloading time and determine a more efficient utilization of operational resources at PT. Eleanor Pradana Shipping Gresik Branch. This study employed a quantitative approach using operational data from unloading activities conducted from November 2025 to January 2026. The research data consisted of 21 unloading activities with a total cargo volume of 96,350 tons. The variables used in this study included the number of trucks (X₁ ), unloading equipment (X₂ ), and loading and unloading workers (X₃ ). The analysis was conducted by calculating unloading time and productivity and applying the Linear Programming method using Microsoft Excel Solver with the Simplex LP method. The results showed that the average unloading time was 12.58 hours, with an average productivity of 363.75 tons per hour. The application of the Linear Programming method resulted in the utilization of 7 truck units, 4 unloading equipment units, and 14 loading and unloading workers, with an unloading time of 11.95 hours. The difference between 12.58 hours and 11.95 hours was 0.63 hours, or approximately 38 minutes. The unloading time efficiency level of 5.01% was obtained by comparing the time saving of 0.63 hours with the average unloading time of 12.58 hours. Therefore, the Linear Programming method can be used as a decision-support tool to determine a more efficient utilization of operational resources and support the acceleration of bulk vessel unloading activities at PT.Eleanor Pradana Shipping Gresik Branch.
