Abstract
The shipbuilding industry plays an important role in supporting the smooth operation of national maritime transportation. Therefore, the productivity of ship repair activities at floating dock facilities must be managed optimally to improve operational efficiency and enhance the company's competitiveness. This study aims to measure the productivity level of ship repair performance and identify the factors affecting productivity using the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method at the floating dock facility of PT Adiluhung Saranasegara Indonesia. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach utilizing primary data obtained through observations and interviews, as well as secondary data consisting of production reports, labor hour records, electricity consumption data, and ship repair operational data. Productivity measurement was conducted based on six indicators, namely gross tonnage (GRT), replating, labor hours (JO), electricity consumption (kWh), regular working hours, and overtime hours. The results indicate that the productivity index fluctuated throughout the observation period. The highest productivity levels were recorded in November with an index value of 1.516, May with 1.5, and August with 1.216. In contrast, the lowest productivity levels occurred in July with an index value of -0.55, December with -0.483, and January with -0.433. The analysis also reveals that labor hours (JO) and electricity consumption were the indicators that most frequently obtained low scores, making them the primary factors contributing to productivity decline. This study demonstrates that the OMAX method is capable of measuring productivity objectively, systematically, and quantitatively while assisting the company in identifying priorities for operational performance improvement. Based on these findings, the periodic implementation of OMAX is recommended as an evaluation tool to enhance the efficiency and productivity of ship repair activities at floating dock facilities.
