Abstract
This study aims to examine the implementation of the marking process, evaluate the accuracy of the marking process in relation to the cutting results of pontoon tank plates, and identify the factors affecting marking accuracy in replating work at a shipyard. The accuracy of the marking process is an important aspect in ensuring that the dimensions of the cutting results conform to those specified in the shop drawing. Proper marking can minimize dimensional deviations, material waste, and rework. This study employed a descriptive quantitative method, with data collected through observation, direct measurement, documentation, and literature review. The research objects were replating activities on Internal Tank 8 and Internal Tank 9, particularly in the Frame 5 to Frame 10 areas. Data analysis was conducted by calculating the deviation between the dimensions specified in the shop drawing and the marking results, as well as between the marking results and the cutting results, to determine the level of dimensional conformity. The results showed that all observed components had a deviation value of 0 mm between the dimensions specified in the shop drawing and the marking results. Similarly, the comparison between the marking results and the cutting results also showed a deviation value of 0 mm. Based on these results, the dimensional conformity rate reached 100%, indicating that all observed components met the dimensions specified in the shop drawing. The accuracy of the marking process was supported by several factors, including the use of appropriate measuring instruments, the operator's ability and precision in reading and applying dimensions from the working drawings, and rechecking before the cutting process. Therefore, it can be concluded that the marking process in the observed replating work had a very high level of accuracy and contributed to the dimensional accuracy of the plate cutting results. Accurate marking enabled the production of components with dimensions conforming to the shop drawing, thereby supporting the quality and accuracy of ship repair work. Keywords: marking, plate cutting, replating, deviation, accuracy, barge tank.
