Abstract
This study aims to identify and analyze the crew sign-on/off procedures for the MPSV Bahtera Azalea vessel operated by PT.Baruna Ocean Shipping at Tanjung Uncang Port, Batam. The sign-on/off process is a crucial part of ship operations, relating to the official crew changeover in accordance with applicable regulations. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the crew sign-on/off procedure involves several stages: preparing crew documents, submitting applications to relevant agencies such as the harbor master and immigration, document verification, and issuing boarding and disembarkation permits. Several obstacles were encountered during the implementation, including document delays, suboptimal coordination between agencies, and other administrative factors. To address these challenges, improved coordination, thorough document preparation, and a thorough understanding of applicable regulations are required. Therefore, implementing effective and efficient crew sign-on/off procedures is crucial to support smooth ship operations and minimize disruptions at the port.
