Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of road conditions, vehicle speed, and environmental factors on the level of traffic accidents on Kretek Road, Wonosobo. Kretek Road is one of the main transportation routes in Wonosobo Regency, characterized by steep slopes, sharp curves, and a relatively high traffic volume. These conditions may increase the risk of traffic accidents if they are not supported by adequate road infrastructure, controlled vehicle speed, and a safe road environment. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the factors that significantly affect the occurrence of traffic accidents on this road segment. The population of this study consisted of all road users traveling on Kretek Road, Wonosobo. The sample included 100 respondents selected using a non-probability sampling method with a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to the respondents. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software, including validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing. The results of the analysis produced the following multiple linear regression equation: Y = 1.458 + 0.289X₁ + 0.302X₂ + 0.275X₃ + μ. The t-test results indicated that road conditions (X₁), vehicle speed (X₂), and environmental factors (X₃) had a positive and significant effect on the level of traffic accidents (Y), with significance values below 0.05. Vehicle speed was identified as the most dominant factor affecting traffic accident levels, with a regression coefficient of 0.302. The coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) was 0.542, indicating that 54.2% of the variation in traffic accident levels could be explained by road conditions, vehicle speed, and environmental factors, while the remaining 45.8% was explained by other variables outside the research model. These findings suggest that improving road infrastructure, controlling vehicle speed, and maintaining a safe road environment are essential measures to reduce traffic accident rates on Kretek Road, Wonosobo. Keywords: Road Conditions, Vehicle Speed, Environmental Factors, Traffic Accident Level.
