Abstract
Oil Water Separator (OWS) is a tool that must be on a ship that functions to separate oil from wastewater to prevent marine pollution. The importance of routine maintenance and repair of OWS lies in its ability to maintain optimal tool performance and extend the service life of components on the Oil Water Separator on the KPC ship. SELAT KIJANG 02. such as filters, oil level sensors, and connected pipes. Planned and procedural maintenance, such as filter cleaning, oil discharge monitor alarm testing, and inspection and replacement of worn components, has been proven to reduce the risk of damage, reduce repair costs, and ensure that wastewater meets international environmental standards (maximum 15 PPM oil). In writing this paper, the author uses qualitative data as a means of collecting data by conducting direct observations at PT. Pelindo Jasa Maritim Tanjung Pinang. The data collection method in this paper uses the observation method, interview method, documentation method and literature study. The results of the discussion in this scientific paper are maintenance on all components such as Filters, Pumps, Valves and Pipes, then repairs to the OWS connecting pipe, bilge pump v-belt and OWS filter screen. Thus, proper maintenance and repair of OWS is very important to support the sustainability of the marine environment and ship operations.
