Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of population density, vehicles, road conditions, and human activity on traffic accidents among motorcyclists on Bangetayu Wetan Highway in Semarang City. This study used a quantitative approach, with a sample of 100 respondents selected using a nonprobability sampling technique with an incidental sampling method. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 27 software. The regression formula in this study is as follows: Y = 0.544 + 0.280X₁ + 0.415X₂ + 0.335X₃ + 0.247X₄.+ µ From the multiple linear regression equation it is known that the most dominant variables influencing traffic accidents are vehicles with a regression coefficient of 0.415, population density with a regression coefficient of 0.280, road conditions with a regression coefficient of 0.335, humans with a regression coefficient of 0.247. The results of the determination coefficient test (R2) obtained 0.431 or 43,1% which means that traffic accidents on motorcycle users on the Bangetayu Wetan highway in Semarang City are influenced by the four independent variables by 43,1% while the remaining 56,9% are other variables outside the model that are not explained in this study. Such as environmental factors, transportation facilities and infrastructure, law enforcement and supervision, social and economic, vehicle psychology.
