Abstract

Driving safety is a condition in which every individual is free from the risk of accidents while driving, caused by human factors, vehicles, roads, and/or the environment. This study aims to analyze the influence of safe driving behavior, vehicle condition, traffic discipline, and driver concentration on driving safety among students/cadets of Universitas Maritim AMNI Semarang. The research population is based on the high risk of traffic accidents, which are often caused by human factors, vehicle condition, and traffic discipline. The sample used in this study consisted of 100 respondents. The sampling technique applied was nonprobability sampling with an incidental sampling method. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the aid of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 25. The regression equation in this study is formulated as follows: Y = -1.901 + 0.297X1 + 0.314X2 + 0.301X3 + 0.232X4 + µ. From the equation, it is known that the variable with the most dominant influence on driving safety is vehicle condition with a regression coefficient of 0.314. The R² test resulted in a value of 0.637 or 63.7%, indicating that driving safety is influenced by the variables of road markings, traffic signs, and road conditions by 63.7%, while the remaining 36.6% is influenced by other factors affecting driving safety on Ahmad Yani Street, Waikabubak City. Keywords: Safe Driving Behavior, Vehicle Condition, Traffic Discipline, Driver Concentration, Driving Safety.
