Abstract
Quality public services are a major indicator in improving the performance of government agencies, including in the sea transportation sector. This study aims to analyze passenger service standards at the Tanjung Emas Port Passenger Terminal Semarang, which is one of the main ports in the Central Java region. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through field observations, interviews with port officers, and literature studies. The results showed that the application of the boarding pass system, improving terminal facilities, the application of information technology, and a strict security system had reflected efforts to improve service standards. The terminal has also provided facilities that support passenger comfort, such as airconditioned waiting rooms, clean toilets, prayer rooms, and accessibility for people with disabilities. Nevertheless, found several obstacles such as lack of service information that is easily accessible and limited directions inside the terminal. Therefore, there needs to be an ongoing evaluation and improvement so that service standards can meet the expectations of service users optimally.
