Abstract
PT. ACT Mitra Containerline is a company engaged in the field of freight forwarding, which plays an important role in the process of international trade activities to meet domestic needs and support economic growth. However, obstacles are still found such as lack of efficiency, handling of import document completeness, timeliness of delivery, ease of handling cargo types, and cargo inspection. This study aims to analyze the effect of Import Document Completeness (X1), Timeliness of Delivery (X2), Ease of Handling Cargo Types (X3), and Cargo Inspection (X4) on Smoothness of importing goods (Y). The sample in this study were stakeholders who played an important role in the smooth process of importing goods and taken as many as 50 respondents. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling type of saturated sampling. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and data analysis techniques used were multiple linear regression analysis, including validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, and hypothesis testing. Based on the results of the analysis, the multiple linear regression equation was obtained as follows: Y = -0.615 + 0.408 X1 + 0.030 X2 + 0.307 X3 + 0.298 X4. The results of hypothesis testing using the t-test showed that the independent variables, namely Import Document Completeness (X1), Timeliness of Delivery (X2), Ease of Handling Cargo Types (X3), and Cargo Inspection (X4), partially had a positive and significant effect on the smoothness of importing goods. This is indicated by the significance value of each variable being below 0.05. In the test of the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R2), a value of 0.611 (61.1%) was obtained, which means that 61.1% of the variation in the smoothness of importing goods can be explained by the four independent variables. Meanwhile, the remaining 38.9% is explained by factors outside the research model. Thus, the results of the study indicate that the completeness of import documents, timeliness of delivery, ease of handling cargo types, and cargo inspection have a positive and significant effect on the smoothness of importing goods at PT.
