Abstract
This paper discusses the berthing service process for the MV. Green Crest at Tanjung Emas Port, as handled by PT. Samudera Agencies Indonesia. As a shipping agency, PT. Samudera Agencies Indonesia acts as the representative for the shipowner, or the Principal, to fulfill the vessel's needs during its berthing process at Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang. There are several key issues that the author aims to resolve, namely the vessel berthing service process, the required documentation, the parties involved, as well as the obstacles and solutions encountered during the berthing process. The company's activities also include providing for the needs of the vessel and crew, handling bunkers, supplying water, and other agency-related activities. The objective of this research is to understand the vessel berthing service process within a shipping agency in general terms. Therefore, this study presents its findings broadly, rather than focusing specifically on one particular shipping agency. The author uses both primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained through a direct interview with the Manager of the Operational Division. Meanwhile, secondary data was gathered from books, archives, and other sources. The data collection method used is observation, which involves directly monitoring activities in the field. The conclusion drawn from the discussion in this paper is that the company operates in the agency sector, representing the shipowner or Principal to meet the vessel's needs during the berthing process and during loading and unloading activities at the port.
