Abstract
Batu Ampar Port is one of the main ports in Indonesia that has an important role in supporting national economic activities. The arrival and departure of the MV Glory Valor ship at this port requires effective coordination to improve operational efficiency. This observation aims to analyze the role of ship agents in improving the handling of the arrival and departure of the MV Glory Valor ship at the port of Batu Ampar. This analysis includes aspects related to ship documents, the parties involved, as well as the impacts and efforts made to handle ship arrivals and departures. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, which includes observation, documentation, and interviews. The results of the study show that ship agents have an important role in coordinating with the port, managing documents, supervising security, and handling ships that experience obstacles. These barriers can affect operational efficiency, so efforts are needed to minimize these risks. Thus, ship agents can contribute significantly to the handling of the arrival and departure of the MV Glory Valor ship at Batu Ampar Port. Keywords: Agent, Ship, Handling, Arrival, Departure
