Abstract

In the era of globalization and international trade, import activities are an important element in the sustainability of the manufacturing industry, including in Indonesia. PT. Nanwang Pack Indonesia as a company engaged in manufacturing and packaging routinely imports vital components such as fan blades and electrical machinery. To facilitate the import process, the company collaborates with PT. Ramajaya Logistik Indonesia which acts as a Customs Service Management Company (PPJK). This study aims to thoroughly determine how the import clearance handling process is carried out by PPJK, including the procedures applied, the documents required, the parties involved, the obstacles faced, and the strategies used to overcome these obstacles. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through direct observation, interviews, and document and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that the import clearance process carried out by PT. Ramajaya Logistik Indonesia includes several stages, namely: receipt of documents and power of attorney from the importer, document checking, preparation and delivery of the Goods Import Notification (PIB), payment via E-Billing, distribution from Customs (red line), to release of goods from the Container Terminal. The required documents include invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, PIB, and company legality documents such as NIB and API. Some obstacles found in the process are incomplete documents, errors in filling in PIB data, delays in sending supporting documents, technical problems with the INSW and CEISA systems, and lack of staff understanding of customs regulations. To overcome these obstacles, PPJK implements a strategy to improve HR competency through routine training, the use of integrated digital systems to facilitate communication and document processing, and intensive coordination with related agencies such as Customs and ports. This study concludes that PPJK professionalism, completeness of documents, and the use of digital technology greatly affect the smoothness of the import clearance process. This study is expected to be a reference for other companies engaged in export-import and educational institutions studying customs and logistics. Keywords: Import Clearance, PPJK, Fan Blade, Electrical Machinery, Customs, PT. Ramajaya Logistik Indonesia, PT. Nanwang Pack Indonesia.
