Abstract
Shipping safety is very important in all aspects of the maritime world. The inherent aspects of shipping safety include the characteristics of attitudes, values, and activities regarding the importance of safety requirements concerning transportation. The purpose of this research is to know how the roles, responsibilities, and ways of handling in the event of a shipping accident. The data collection techniques used were observations, interviews, documentations and literature study so that it can be analyzed and conclusions can be drawn. The results of observations made at Sea and Coast Guard Class II Tanjungpinang, the authors convey that Sea and Coast Guard Class II Tanjungpinang have carried out their roles and responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations. The author concludes that Sea and Coast Guard Class II Tanjungpinang have complied with the applicable laws and regulations for transportation safety and prevention of shipping accidents.
