Abstract

This research describes the topics or trends of research on ballast water management on board ships to provide opportunities for future research on topics that have novelty. The purpose of this study is to find trends in research publications based on the author's country, research information based on the author's name, and research trends based on the year of publication of the article. The method used is bibliometric analysis by identifying research topics related to ballast water management onboardship by entering the keyword ‘ballast water management’ in the Scopus database. The results obtained were 544 document articles. This analysis resulted in 4 research clusters. This research produced 2627 keywords and found 78 meetings of keywords. In cluster 1 found a lot of research with the keyword environmental management. this keyword has a lot to do with pollution prevention equipment from ballast water. while cluster 2 found a lot of keywords related to the type of micro organisms in ballast water, then cluster 3 found a lot of keywords International Maritime organization related to international regulations on ballast water pollution. In preventing the impact of ship waste pollution from ballast water filling can be overcome by using a ballast water management plan.
