Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of exports, investment, labor, and exchange rates on economic growth in Central Java Province during the period 2000–2024. The analytical method used is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) with the assistance of EViews 10 software. The data used are annual time series secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and Bank Indonesia. The Johansen cointegration test confirms a long-term relationship among the variables. In the short run, exports and exchange rates have a positive and significant effect on economic growth, while investment and labor are not statistically significant. In the long run, investment shows a positive contribution, although statistically insignificant. The Error Correction Term (ECT) coefficient of -0.9018 is statistically significant, indicating a strong adjustment mechanism toward long-term equilibrium. These findings suggest that exports and exchange rates are key drivers of short-term growth, while investment plays a strategic role in the long term. Therefore, regional economic policies should balance short-term responsiveness with long-term investment-driven development strategies.
