Abstract
Liferaft is one of the primary safety devices in navigation, designed to provide protection to crew members and passengers in emergency situations. Effective operation and maintenance of liferafts are crucial to ensure their functionality when needed. This paper aims to identify and develop optimization strategies in liferaft maintenance and operation, focusing on enhancing durability, reliability, and speed in the evacuation process. Maintenance optimization involves routine supervision of the liferaft's physical and functional condition, such as material quality inspection, equipment completeness, and crew training. Meanwhile, operational optimization includes well-structured evacuation procedures, including regular liferaft usage simulations to improve preparedness. The methodology for this paper involves qualitative data collected through interviews, observations, and literature review. The results of this paper provide a more effective guide in managing the liferaft lifecycle and minimizing potential operational errors that could endanger lives. Thus, this optimization can enhance maritime safety and support the overall operational sustainability of the vessel. Keywords: Maintenance, Operation, Liferaft, Safety
