Abstract
The pump is a liquid seawater flow machine that is used to move fluids from one place to another. The pump converts mechanical energy into kinetic energy. Cooler at main engine consist of sea water pump, the type of pump is centrifugal. The cooling system is an important part of the main engine. Data types and source the author uses methods, interview, and literature studies,to collect the data. The cause of the decline in the performance of the centrifugal pump is a lack of suction and pressure from the seawater pump. Lots of garbage and shellfish droppings are also one of the causes. The decrease in the performance of the impeller on the pump is caused by blockage of the impeller by dirt or marine animals that enter through the sea chest. This causes a decrease in pump pressure, a leak in the pump packing gland, which causes a leak. The results of the discussion in this scientific paper are the lack of suction and cooling water pump pressure, decreased performance of the impeller on the pump, leaks in the pump packing gland. on gland packing.
