Abstract
The Sea and Coast Guard Unit (KPLP) is a Directorate that functions as a guard and enforcer of rules in accordance with Law No.17 of 2008 concerning Shipping. KPLP is needed because of the flow of ships entering the port in the area of the Class III Batang Port Operator Unit Office and the need for maritime patrols to avoid disasters at sea. The objectives of this study are 1). To find out how the description of maritime patrol activities in the jurisdiction of the Class III Batang Port Operator Unit Office 2). To find out what obstacles are faced when conducting maritime patrols in the area of the Class III Batang Port Operator Unit Office 3). To find out how efforts to overcome the obstacles that occur. In this case the researcher uses a descriptive qualitative writing method to describe and describe the object under study. In addition, this research also uses observation, interviews and literature studies. Based on the results of the research that the researcher conducted, the researcher gave suggestions 1). KPLP should be more assertive in implementing patrols in law enforcement at the port so that activities in the Class III Batang Port Operator Unit Office area continue to run safely and orderly 2). The equipment used in patrols should be more sophisticated so that in the implementation of maritime patrols there are no obstacles so that the function of KPLP can run well 3). The Indonesian government should take part in providing facilities and equipment to support patrols so that the situation in the Batang Class III Port Operator Unit Office area is safer and then hold joint exercises together with the Navy - Police and orderly and also the Government makes it easier for KPLP personnel to improve their skills through training conducted by the government.
