Abstract

Lubricating oil is a liquid that is used as a lubricant. Also useful as a cooler and silencer. However, high temperatures will damage the power of the main engine lubrication. If the lubricating power is lost, the friction will increase and the temperature will continue to increase. Therefore, the maintenance of the lubricating oil system must be following the procedure. And also need to do maintenance, especially components that are prone to damage. The purpose of this observation is to find out how to treat it. As well as how to deal with the causes of the increase in the temperature of lubricating oil on the ship. The normal temperature is 45oC-50oC and the abnormal temperature is 50oC-70oC. The engine lubrication system is a series that functions from accommodating, vacuuming, filtering, and distributing. The method used in this observation is the method of observation (observation). Apart from using this method the writer also uses the interview method (interview). And also using the library method. From the results of observations made by the author, it is found that. KMN. Juwana has carried out the lubrication system maintenance process properly. And also to find out how to maintain and repair. As well as being able to find out about the factors that cause the temperature rise of lubricating oil on the ship. So that maintenance activity on the lubricating oil system is carried out optimally. From the results of writing based on the observations I made. That the maintenance of the lubricating oil system is carried out following the procedure. And with the care that is done, the lubricating oil system can work properly.
