Is a company that operates in the field of shipping agency (Shipping Agency) services for permits for entry and exit of ships, permits for entry and exit of foreign crews to Indonesia, extension of crew certificates and ship certificates, and management of sign on and sign off books for crew sailors. The process of processing crew documents begins when the crew signs a sea work agreement (PKL) for seafarers who will join Indonesian-flagged ships and an agreement for seafarers who join foreign-flagged ships. The data collection method used by the author in writing this paper is the field observation method (field research) and the library research method to find out more closely how the company PT. Kencana Energi Success in carrying out crew document management activities in accordance with the crew's needs. This paper aims to find out the process of managing the sign on books for ship crew sailors at PT. Kencana Energi Sukses, the process began after a direction from the owner that there would be a crew change activity, after that the process of signing on the crew's seaman's book went to the Batam Special KSOP Office. Signing on the crew's seaman's book is very important for a seafarer, apart from being a sign that the seafarer has legally joined the ship, it also adds to the seafarer's work experience. The problems faced in the process of signing on the crew's seaman's book are the delay in information from the owner to sign on the crew's seaman's book which results in the ship leaving and the seaman's book has not been signed on, thereby hampering the clearance process. Good cooperation and coordination between shipping companies and related agencies in the activity of signing on seafarers' books is very necessary for smooth service to crew document handlers. Keywords: sign in, sign off, certificate
