Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of generators in supporting the electrical system of the MV. Cattleya Express, identify issues in the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB), and propose effective maintenance solutions. The research employs direct observation aboard the ship, interviews with crew members, and literature review on ship electrical systems. The analysis focuses on identifying faults and developing maintenance strategies to ensure power stability. Findings indicate that voltage instability in AVR and overload or aging components in MCB are the main causes of electrical failures. Routine maintenance, proper component replacement, and selecting appropriate equipment significantly enhance generator reliability. This study provides valuable insights for ship operators to understand electrical systems, detect potential failures, and implement effective maintenance strategies to ensure safe and efficient ship operations.
