Abstract
This research paper is motivated because there is streak of vessel accident which occured in a relatively short time at the end of 2014 until the end of 2015 in the waters of Java Sea with 4 cases of accidents which resulting in 2 people injured, 10 missing, and 5 people died, so this this matter causing substantial losses forthe owners of the vessel. By looking at the existing problems, so this research paper aimed to analyze about any factors that can increase the level of navigation safety of fishing vessel, by analyzing factors that affect navigation safety of fishing vessel, through the tools of vessel safety, the resources of fishing vessel crew, the feasibility of vessel, and Aids to Navigation (AtoN) to navigation safety of fishing vessel. The population that used in this research paper is the entire crew that sertified expertise sailors (captain) fishing vessel. Samples of this research paper are 68 respondents and the techniques used is non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling, which is a sampling technique based on certain criteria, ie anyone who is deemed eligible according to the researchers (Ferdinand, 2011). The question is given by using a questionnaire consist of closed questions and open-ended questions. Respondents answers to the closed questions about variables studied in this research paper then analyzed by using SPSS (Stastistic Package for Social Science Version 22:00. Data analysis technique in this research is multiple linear regression technique. Based on the research results and multiple analysis resulting equation: Y = 0,364 + 0,306 X1 + 0,243 X2 + 0,230 X3 + 0,227 X4 + µ the results of multiple linear regression equation shows that there is a partial of positive influence between safety tools of vessel toward navigation safety of fishing vessel (tarithmetic2,726>ttable1,99773), resources fishing crew toward navigation safety of fishing vessel (t arithmetic2,138>t table1,99773), feasibility vessel toward navigation safety of fishing vessel (tarithmetic2,863>ttable1,99773), and the role of Aids to Navigation (AtoN) toward navigation safety of fishing vessel (tarithmetic2,531>ttable1,99773). As for the feasibility test models (Farithmetic20,554>Ftable2,51). The fourth influence of research variables is very strong with the correlation value Adjusted R2 (0,539). By simultan variable tools of safety vessel, the resources of fishing vessel crew, the feasibility of vessel, and Aids to Navigation (AtoN) influential 53.9% toward navigation safety of fishing vessel and 46.1% are influenced by the variables that are not detected in this research.
