Abstract
Purifier is an auxiliary device used to separate two liquids with different specific densities. On ships, the purifier functions to clean fuel from liquid and solid impurities (mud) so that damage to the engine due to the use of unclean fuel can be reduced. Fuel oil purifiers on ships are one of the auxiliary machines that have a very important role in producing clean fuel. Maintenance is an effort to maintain the durability and perfection of equipment. where the equipment must always be in good condition and ready to use. Damage to the membrane reducing valve resulting in over flow in the Fuel Oil Purifier, the rotation of the bowl not working properly affects the performance of the Fuel Oil Purifier. The purpose of the discussion about mi purifiers is to deepen understanding of the causes and how to repair damaged membrane reducing valves resulting in over flow and to maintain bowl components so that purifier performance is more optimal so that damage to the Fuel Oil Purifier can be minimized. The results of this discussion are that the system in the purifier is well maintained because maintenance is carried out regularly and obtains a decent viscosity quality in accordance with the specified specific gravity, namely 180 CST with a temperature of 120° C from the boiler's hot steam. However, if the boiler experiences problems or trouble, the specific gravity of the liquid must be determined with an alternative viscosity according to the temperature obtained.
