Abstract
Foreign vessel activities in Indonesian ports require the appointment of general agent to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. PT. Bahari Laju Anugerah Cabang Batam plays an active role in handling foreign ship agencies, most of which have foreign crews. This process involves various stages including the processing of residence permits and immigration documents required for foreign crew members working on board. This study discusses the parties involved and the procedures that must be followed to ensure the smooth running of the process. The results of the study show that good coordination between ship owners, agents, and related agencies is very important to ensure that all documents and permits are processed on time. Thus, foreign crew members can leave Indonesia in accordance with applicable regulations and not overstay. This research is expected to provide a comprehensive understanding of the change of foreign crew in Batam and become a reference for related parties in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of handling foreign crew in Indonesian territorial waters.
