Abstract
A crane is a machine used to lift objects horizontally (bottom to top or top to bottom). This machine is equipped with steel ropes or chains that are driven by many pulleys, thus providing a mechanical advantage beyond what humans can do. On general cargo ships, the loader bar and loader pole are made of steel/iron, on each loader bar it is written (SWL) safety working load. The crane functions to move the loader bar. This writing uses qualitative methods or also called narrative data, which is data in research that explains a phenomenon based on things that generally cannot be calculated. Therefore, the qualitative data in this author's research is in the form of a description of the Maintenance and Operation of Cranes Supporting the Loading and Unloading Process at PT DOK PANTAI LAMONGAN. The results of this research are that crane machines have many parts that must be maintained so that their operation can work optimally. The maintenance that is often carried out on crane machines is checking the blog/pulley section. Disruption or damage occurs due to lack of maintenance on the crane machine. Based on observations, implementing maintenance on crane machines that is carried out regularly will extend the life of the crane. Keywords: Crane Machine, Method, Maintenance
