Abstract
Ship safety is one of the goals of a marine transportation mode, where safety is a fixed price in creating smooth, comfortable, and safe transportation. A ship certificate is a document that must be fulfilled in operating a ship, besides that the ship must meet the requirements both administratively and physically so that the ship can sail to its destination. This writing aims to explain the Role of KSOP Class IV Tegal whether KSOP Class IV Tegal has carried out its duties and functions in accordance with statutory regulations, obstacles in carrying out its duties and functions, as well as the effort made by KSOP Class IV Tegal to the problems in shiping safety. The office of the Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) Class IV Tegal as an agency whose main task and function are to carried out the formulation and implementation of policies, formulation of norms, standards, procedurs, and criteria, providing technical guidance and supervision as well as evaluation and reporting in the maritime sector ships, maritime, and maritime evnironmental protection.
