Abstract
In the industrial era 4.0, the progress of science and technology is growing rapidly and is directly proportional to the need for transportation facilities, one of which is sea transportation. This study aims to determine the most basic of ships, namely ship construction or ship building contained in vessel which operates in the Bali Strait, the hull construction on vessel has a Catamaran hull. In this study, the method used is to use quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to compare and analyze the hull effects caused. In addition, the data in this study were obtained from the results of interviews, observations, documentation and literature studies. The results showed that the effect of the catamaran’s hull was the resistance value of the catamaran’s hull was greater than that of the monohull,if a ship with catamaran hull sails in deep water areas such as of the Bali Strait, there will be a squat effect in the form of sinkage, trim, as well as the effects of excessive pitching, rolling, and heaving. As for the efforts that can be applied to reduce the impact of the catamaran hull structure, a good and proper way of seakeeping, even with the limitations of the ship building structure with the constructions of the ship’s hull that is not in accordance with the conditions of the waters of the Bali Strait. So that it can improve their nautical skills to minimize these risks for the safety of ships, ship crews, passengers, cargo, dan the marine environment.
