Abstract
The loading and unloading process will run smoothly when everything goes well and there are no obstacles. However, it is different when the implementation is limited and damaged tools and human resource competence is lacking, resulting in delays in the loading and unloading process. The lack of loading and unloading equipment and damage as well as the lack of human resource competence cause the length of the loading and unloading process and can cause losses for Pelindo Gresij. In this regard, this study aims to determine the factors causing delays in the loading and unloading process and efforts that can be made to increase loading and unloading productivity at Gresik Port. This thesis research method is qualitative descriptive. Data sources are taken from primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques using field research which include, observation and documentation so that data validity techniques are obtained. The results of the study concluded that the factors that caused the decrease in loading and unloading productivity were limitations and damage to equipment and lack of human resource competence. The impact of limitations and damage to equipment and lack of HR competence is the delay in the loading and unloading process, complaints from the company, and changes in schedules and losses for PT. Pelindo and customers. Efforts that can be made are hiring experienced and competent Loading and Unloading Labor and carrying out maintenance and maintenance of loading and unloading equipment if necessary to add.
