Abstract
Guiding and Delaying the Boat will go smoothly when everything goes well and there are no obstacles. However, it is different when the implementation of the presence of less guides / less guides, the facilities / guide ships are not ready to decrease the effectiveness of ship guidance at PT. Port of Indonesia Lembar Branch. Of all the ships visited, there were 7 ships that did not meet the guidance performance standards where the average ship guidance time was 99.28 minutes > 60 minutes of guidance performance standards, this was caused by inadequate guidance personnel and guidance infrastructure which caused a decrease in the effectiveness of ship guidance and could cause losses for PT. Port Indonesia branch of Lembar itself and Shipping Parties and Consumers. The results of the analysis carried out using the correlation coefficient analysis method were found to have a correlation coefficient of 0.418 or 99%, which means that there is a strong influence between infrastructure facilities and the effectiveness of guidance is positive and strong, and the result for the guide variable is a correlation coefficient of 0.698 or 69.8%, which means that there is a strong influence between the guide and the effectiveness of guidance is positive and strong. The results of the study concluded that the factors that caused the decline in the effectiveness of ship guidance in Pelindo Lembar were the existence of insufficient Human Resources / lack of guides and the addition and maintenance of facilities / guide ships that had not been realized. Efforts that can be made to carry out Maintenance and Maintenance of Equipment in accordance with Procedures and improve the performance of human resources by changing work shifts.
