Abstract

Being a sailor is not an easy thing, there are many things that need to be considered, especially during work. Safety and safety of work is one of the absolute factors that must be fulfilled by all seafarers in the world, so that the crew can work efficiently and optimally. The purpose is to find out the procedure for carrying out rescue if someone falls or drowns in the sea. As well as to find out what actions to take if there is an accident and the victim survives but the victim is unconscious. In the preparation of this paper, the author collected data by making direct observations about the optimization of saving lives at sea by the rescue team of the National SAR Agency (BASARNAS). The observation method aims to see firsthand the world of work that the author only learned in the previous lectures. So the result of how to optimize or rescue mechanisms when someone drowns in the sea is about how a rescuer knows and follows the safety provisions including the actions taken by a rescuer when a man over board (MOB). If you do not understand the movement of the ship When a man over board occurs, it will result in the drowning of the victim who falls into the sea and also the result of what action is done when there is a victim who is successfully rescued but in an unconscious state is about how the rescuer follows and complies with the rescue procedure so that the victim does not mishandle and the victim is successfully rescued and conscious.
