Abstract

Tug boat is a ship that can be used to carry out manouver / movement, mainly pulling or pushing other ships in ports, high seas or through rivers or canals. Tugboats are also used to pull barges, damaged ships, and other equipment. This study aims to determine the effect of waiting time, port performance, loading and unloading productivity on the distribution of guide ships. The population in this study is all crew or employees who work in shipping companies / shipping agencies whose ships use tugboat services in the Gersik Port work area and the sample used in this study was 100 respondents. The sampling technique used is nonprobability sampling type Simple incidental, then the data is analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) Version 25. The formulation of regression in this study is as follows: Y = 0,733 + 0,333X1 + 0,203X2 + 0,385X3 + µ From this equation, it is known that the most dominant variable affecting the distribution of tugboats is the loading and unloading productivity variable with a regression coefficient of 0.385. The R2 (R Square) test obtained a result of 0.561 / 56.1%. This translates to 56.1% tugboat distribution (Y) which can be explained by independent variables namely waiting time (X1), dock availability (X2) and loading and unloading productivity (X3). While the rest (100%-56.1% = 43.9%) is explained by other variables outside the model that are not explained in this study such as weather variables, number of work gangs, and so on.
