Abstract
The role of the ship's rudder is to change and determine the direction of movement of the ship, both straight and turning direction of the ship. Considering the important role of the ship's rudder, maintenance and repairs must be carried out so that the ship's rudder has a long performance period. To prevent the dangers that arise. If the ship's rudder is damaged, an analysis of the repair and proper maintenance of the rudder is needed. This study will discuss the repair and maintenance of the ship's rudder on the KN.Trisulla P-111 KPLP.Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. This repair process is used to repair damage to the rudder and rudder shaft. After the repair is carried out, the thing that must be done is the maintenance process so that the rudder and rudder shaft can work properly. Based on data collection carried out during Land Practice (Prada), the author used several methods, namely observation, interviews, and document study and literature study. The results of the discussion of this paper are that after repairs and maintenance are carried out, the performance of the ship's rudder will run well and there will be no obstacles when the ship is sailing. It is recommended that in order for the rudder blade to have a long validity period, maintenance should be carried out regularly to minimize damage to the ship's rudder blade. In conclusion, if the rudder leaf is regularly maintained and repaired, it will prevent damage to the ship's rudder leaf so that there will be no problems when the ship is sailing.
