Abstract
The fuel pump is one of the main components of a marine diesel engine which plays an important role in distributing fuel to the diesel engine. The fuel pump is a device that pumps fuel into the diesel engine cylinders. An electromotor can be interpreted as a device or machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Mechanical damage can be caused by many things, including lack of lubrication, excessive or uneven vibration or misalignment. All these causes have in common that they occur gradually and show warning signs. Over-current often occurs due to operating conditions that cause the motor to draw a current greater than its rated capacity. Low Insulation Resistance is the insulation resistance of the electric motor winding which will decrease (degrade) over time. The purpose of writing is to find out how to maintain and repair damage that often occurs to fuel pump electromotors on ships. The data collection method used by the author is observation of KM. Dharma Rucitra 1, interviews with several related sources, literature and documentation on matters related to KM. Dharma Rucitra I. The type of data used is qualitative data. This observation discusses the maintenance and repair of marine engine fuel pumps. The results obtained were that electro maintenance of the ship's fuel pump motor was carried out by checking the current, checking the quality of the insulation resistance and checking the motor temperature. Repairs can be made according to the damage that occurs. The conclusion obtained is that electrical maintenance of ship fuel pump motors is carried out by checking current, checking the quality of insulation resistance and repairs can be carried out according to the damage that occurs.
