Abstract
Operation and maintenance of electric welding Types and uses of electric welding. To know the welding process in electric welding in shipyards. Preventing metal damage to the components to be electrically welded as early as possible, so that the work on certain objects can be completed without any problems. The writing method used by the author in conveying the problem is descriptive to describe and describe the object written based on data obtained from interviews with sources as well as literature studies and direct observations in the field during the implementation of Land Practices (PRADA) at PT. BINTAN SEROJA. So the authors draw the following conclusions. Welding techniques include underhand welding, horizontal (horizontal) welding, vertical welding, overhead welding (over head), welding to the left, welding to the right, horizontal position of the pipe ( 5G), blunt joint welding, carbon electrode welding, webbed electrode welding. The advantages of electric welding include relatively inexpensive equipment, very easy to use, easy to carry, all metals can be welded. Welding work includes checking the size of the workpiece material, painting the workpiece, cutting the workpiece, making welding grooves, doing welding according to the workpiece, doing finishing on the workpiece. Work carefully and seriously, because if we play around, it can cause accidents to both ourselves and the work environment, adjust the welding machine flow properly to get satisfactory results Keywords: Operation, maintenance of electric welding at PT.Bintan Seroja's Shipyard.
