Abstract
Safety issues and accidents in general are as old as human life. Similarly, work safety began when humans started working. Ancient humans experienced accidents and learned from them how to reduce accidents. One aspect of general safety is work safety. The understanding of public safety must be improved. This research aims to determine and analyze personal protective safety equipment, the role of personal protective equipment, as well as obstacles to the use of personal protective safety equipment on patrol boats of the Central Java Regional Police Ditpolairud. The analytical method used in this research is qualitative analysis with the techniques used being interviews, field observations, and data collection through observation, interviews, and library research. The results of this research show that personal protective safety equipment, the role of personal protective equipment, and barriers to the use of personal protective safety equipment are very influential in preventing the risk of work accidents on board ships. Therefore, in order for the personal protective safety equipment on board the ship to meet the standard criteria, it is best to carry out regular checks and check the suitability of the personal protective safety equipment so that all equipment functions as it should. The role of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needs to be emphasized more so that the crew can use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to reduce the risk of accidents that could occur on board the ship. To prevent obstacles to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on ships, it is best for all ship crew to understand how important it is to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to reduce the risk of work accidents.
