Abstract
Maritime safety in the shipping industry is a very important aspect to consider, where the operational success of a ship is largely determined by the quality and quantity of these factors. Safety procedures in the maritime world are already very strict, the level of accidents and incidents that occur, especially in ports, is still very high. This study aims to analyze in depth the influence of these criteria on shipping safety and to provide concrete recommendations for port management in improving safety conditions. The results of the study indicate that the number of passengers has the highest priority in influencing shipping safety with a priority weight of 0.103 or 10%, followed by the criteria for crew resources with a priority weight of 0.258 or 26% and the criteria for safety equipment with a priority weight of 0.638 or 64%. The results of alternative calculations show that the highest priority in shipping safety at Sri Bintan Pura Tanjungpinang Port is Ship A with a weight of 0.1333 or 13%, Ship B with the third priority with a weight of 0.5315 or 53%, and Ship C with the second priority with a weight of 0.3352 or 34%. Thus, this study provides an important contribution in improving the understanding and management of shipping safety at Sri Bintan Pura Tanjungpinang Port.
