Abstract
Indonesia is a very extensive maritime country, therefore it is very closely related to the world of transportation, especially sea transportation. In this activity, the clearance in and clearance out procedures become one of the important requirements for running a business that includes sea transportation. In this case, PT Bahtera Bestari Shipping Tanjung Pinang acts as an agent that takes care of clearance in and clearance of ships at the port, takes care of the ship's needs while in port and calculates the dirsbusment account while at the port. Apart from that, shipping companies also pay attention to obstacles that often occur in the ship clearance process, such as unclear departures, frequent queues at ports, and problems with ship documents. In order to avoid this problem, agency companies must work extra in handling ships entering and leaving the port. Based on the written work carried out on in-depth interviews, methods, observations, question methods and literature review, observation indicators can be identified. Establishing standards that are seen, those that have been determined have been carried out according to procedures, measuring performance is found to still need to be optimized in terms of the firmness of implementers in carrying out service tasks regarding ships as well as obstacles to delays influenced by external factors.
