Abstract
An intercooler is a mechanical device used to cool a fluid, including liquid or gas or air. Here, the air referred to in a multi-stage heating process is a heat exchanger which removes waste heat in the compressor gas. The intercooler increases the efficiency of the induction system by reducing the heat-induced air created by the supercharger or turbocharger and increasing overall combustion. This eliminates the heat of compression, namely, the increase in temperature that occurs in any gas when the pressure is increased or the unit mass per unit volume (density) is increased. main engine. Sources of data obtained from the interview method and also observations when carrying out ground practice. Primary data obtained from informants directly by interview. Secondary data were obtained not by interviewing but by collecting pre-existing data. In this paper the author explains how to properly and properly care for the intercooler. The author collects data by means of observation, interviews, literature and documentation. In order for the work of the intercooler to run well and in accordance with what we want, intercooler treatments should be carried out. These treatments are carried out to minimize the problems that will arise when the Main Engine is operating.
