Abstract

Anchor Machine is an anchor towing machine installed on the ship for the purpose of lifting and extending the anchor and anchor chain through the anchor tube (haws pipe). In addition to lifting and extending the anchor, the anchor machine can also function as a tool for winding the mooring rope. Thus the anchor machine is one of the mandatory tools on board considering its important function. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out how to operate and maintain a hydraulic anchor machine. To find out the consequences caused if the anchor engine maintenance is not done properly and how to fix it. On this occasion the authors used qualitative data types and the source was secondary data. The method of collection is with observation data, interviews and literature studies. The results that the authors get in how to operate the hydraulic anchor engine on the KN.SAR Widura 225 ship, namely knowing about the preparatory steps that need to be done before running the anchor engine, how to operate the anchor engine, and how to stop the anchor engine.
