Abstract
The writing of this paper was made to get a better picture of the duties of PT. Pelindo Multi Terminal Branch Dumai in dry bulk shipping and loading and unloading activities. The problem contained is the process of dry bulk loading and unloading activities in accordance with the procedure and the role of the Dispatcher in the loading and unloading process. The purpose of this observation is to find out the loading and unloading activities at PT. Pelindo Multi Terminal Branch Dumai Year 2023 as well as the stages that are passed. Dispatcher is an individual or officer who is responsible for organizing and coordinating various aspects of the ship loading and unloading process. the parties involved, the procedures used in loading and unloading activities, what tools are used in loading and unloading activities, the obstacles experienced and the loading and unloading planning process or Stowage Plan.To collect the data used, the author uses methods obtained through interviews, observations which directly see activities at the port, books, archives, and other sources. The results of this discussion can be concluded that PT Pelindo Multi Terminal Branch Dumai is engaged in the loading and unloading of dry bulk in which this company helps manage the delivery of goods through sea transportation by ship so as to facilitate customers in terms of shipping goods. Dispatcher is also one of the supporters of the smooth loading and unloading process Although the loading and unloading dispatcher still has several factors that become obstacles in implementation, the company is trying its best in an effort to carry out the smooth process of unloading cargo to the maximum.
