Abstract
Indonesia is a maritime country with 17,508 islands and a sea area of 3,257,483 km². Tanjung Emas in Semarang is Central Java's main port, but it is limited to large ships. Shipping traffic density increases, increasing the risk of accidents and crime in the waters. The water police (Korpolairud) Polri maintains security in this area. They conduct patrols, synergize with other agencies, provide socialization, and operate aircraft for monitoring. The government regulates procedures and supervises the construction of ports. Homeland security and law enforcement in the waters are the main objectives of the National Police. The Directorate of Water Police (Ditpolair) has an important role in maintaining security in Tanjung Emas Semarang. The research will focus on the role of Semarang Air and Water Police in maintaining safety and security at the port of Tanjung Emas Semarang. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of Semarang water and air police in maintaining safety and security at Tanjung Emas Port Semarang. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews and observations.
