Abstract
The International Ship and Port Facility Security Code is an international regulation on the security of ships and port facilities. The determination of this regulation is expected to regulate the requirements for the government, ship-owning companies, and ports. The purpose for the implementation of coaching, supervision and security of the ISPS Code area at the Tanjung Balai Karimun port office, namely the problems or obstacles faced by the syahbandar are obstacles in ship safety and security inspection activities at the Tanjung Balai Karimun Class I Port Authority and the Port Office in the Lack of Human Resources and Syahbandar officials and ship safety inspection officials. In ship safety inspection activities, ship safety inspection officials must follow the development of new rules and regulations in shipping and study carefully, Ship safety inspection officers must educate the captain and crew of the new rules and regulations as well as the importance of ship safety and ship seaworthiness in the voyage. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method, the analysis used is obtained from various data collection techniques through various interview data collection techniques, document analysis, focused discussions, or observations outlined in field notes (transcripts). Another form of data is qualitative data, namely images obtained through photography. The results obtained During the supervision, the guarding and security of the area looked orderly and safe from guard disturbances in the Tanjung Balai Karimun port area. The organizing unit is responsible for regulating facilities and infrastructure, as well as ensuring awareness of work safety both in the port area and on board. The conclusion is the need to increase the sense of responsibility for the tasks carried out by each organizing unit at the Port Authority Class 1 Port Authority Office Tanjung Balai Karimun.
