Abstract
The cooling system is a medium that functions to absorb heat. This heat is obtained from the combustion of fuel in the cylinder. The cooling system in the engine is made so that the engine can work at a specified temperature after the engine is started, and maintains that the engine can work at working temperature. In data collection, the KN Enggano main engine uses a cooling system that uses fresh/closed water, using a heat exchanger as a medium for exchanging heat vessels. The main function of an expansion tank is to accommodate the expansion and contraction of water as it heats and cools within the system to ensure safe and efficient water pressure. The cooling system also often experiences problems/disorders in the cooling system, including: Leaks in the pipes, problems with the thermostat and blockage of dirt/sediment in the sea chest channel. A cooling system is equipped in the engine to cool and prevent excessive heat, so it is necessary to regulate and maintain a constant temperature in the operating engine by flowing cooling media to the engine parts that want to be cooled. The cooling system must also be considered so that the engine can operate properly, one of the cooling system components such as the heat exchanger which has an important role in supporting the performance of the cooling system. Basically, this tool can help optimize the heating and cooling process in an efficient way. Must be more precise in regular repairs and maintenance in accordance with the standard manual book. Maintenance and repairs to the cooling system are carried out regularly, so the engine performance will run optimally and prevent overheating which can damage the engine and the life of the cooling system components and main engine will last longer.
